Ken Nelson -passed away on January 6, 2008. Former head of country A&R for Capitol Records and a member of the Country Music Hall Of Fame. Credited with helping to define the "Bakersfield Sound" (most commonly associated with Buck Owens). During the 50s & 60s some of the greats he produced include Hank Thompson, Buck Owens, Ferlin Husky, Wanda Jackson, Tommy Collins, Wynn Stewart, Merle Haggard and Rose Maddox. Tonight's Heroes segment features songs from some of these artists that Ken Nelson worked with.
